Best single stage trigger

There is no best trigger. It all boils down to the feel of preference.

Can't really say much about the single stage triggers. The RRA match two stage trigger isn't bad. It's not a Geissele by any means, but for the money it's hard to beat. Depends on what you want to spend really. I tried the CMC flat trigger last week at a local shop and fell in love.

That is the biggest hurdle going from a bolt gun to an AR. I prefer the Geiselle, I have one of them, a Jewell and another one I can't recall which, come over and try them. The good thing is you can easily switch triggers. If the Timney is adjustable, a good trigger guy can help, I would also buy one of the grip screw adjusters it will take some of the first stage takeup out of a 2 stage.

I prefer 2 stage triggers most often. But I wanted to try out a single stage trigger for my new coyote build. I bought a Wilson TTU. Very nice and glad I bought it. Very crisp break with no take up , very short reset. Just like a good tuned bolt rifle trigger.

I just put one of the Brownells trigger adjusting screws that goes up through the grip, it made tremendous difference on a home trigger job. I would guess it has to be close 2 1/2lbs or less. Nice and crisp. The price is right as well. I put a spring kit and honed the trigger as well.

I haven't tried a lot of them, but I love my JP. The fact that it was half the cost of a lot of other single stage triggers makes it even more enjoyable.

I have been using JPs for years. I looked at one from Black Rain Ordnance at the SHOT Show last week and I will have one of them soon.

JARD / Timney

X2 I have both 3# Timney and 1.5# Jard's

I have had many different triggers in my AR's but prefer the Timney #3. Crisp and light, easy to install. I also liked the JP ones, they take a little time to setup.

I vote the Timney 3# because it is a straight drop in, no adjustments to have to tweak later after a few 1000 rounds, and ease of installment. Anybody can install one of these. And the triggers are sweet for sure.
