Best stock/barrel combo for around $200 for a 10/22

I am looking for a barrel/stock combo for a 10/22. I was thinking of a green mountain and a Hogue. I want to keep the barrel length at 16in. Any suggestions other than the green mountain? Accuracy is my biggest concern. Would love some input. Thanks.
 
if you go over to rimfire central there is a guy who takes the factory carbine barrel and makes it a real shooter. Its been a really long time. I think maybe it gets re-sleeved with a match chamber. supposed to be affordable and awesome. check out rimfirecentral.com .
 
Staying at the $200 level for a really accurate barrel may be a bit of a challenge....I have a Magnum Research barrel on my 10/22 that is carbon fiber wrapped over stainless steel with a quasi muzzle brake built in...Very accurate and light weight...The rifle has an after market Butler Creek composite stock that weighs in ounces, I installed a Timney drop in match grade trigger that made a great improvement..

 
Thanks oldturtle.I went with a green mountain 16.5in fluted sporter barrel. I'm hoping to get under an inch at 50yds. A guy had a over stock of them and was letting it go for a song. Now I have to decide if I'm gonna keep my composite stock or upgrade. I'm still looking at the Hogue stock but since I saved a bit on the barrel I may spend a bit more. I'm picking it up tomorrow so I'll post some pics and groups.
Just getting back into the 10/22. My dad gave me my first one in the late 70's and that one still shoots awesome however I gave it to my nephew. Picked up two new 10/22's in the last few weeks. One for me and one for dad. Circle of life.
 
The Butler Creek stock has no flex in it...It's very light weight and is channeled for a .90" barrel (free floated bull)...Certainly nothing wrong with the Green Mountain barrel....At the time I built mine, there were 3-4 of us that decided we were going to put together a Ultra-Light 10/22, but didn't want to give up accuracy, so that's the reason we went with the Magnum Research barrels...I think the whole rifle, with scope is under 5#...maybe closer to 4..

Under an inch at 50 is easy. I had a 10/22 carbine and all i did was bed it and get the trigger down to 4lbs with adjustable sear and it would do 3/4" at 50 yards. You should be looking for half inch at 50. Try some winchester 40 gr subsonic for an affordable and accurate round. Your gun may or may not cycle them...Some polishing can help if it doesn't.
