Well I still haven't skinned out a coon in the field but I did take my 10 year old daughter with me last night to one spot. We caught 4 coons at the top of a den tree and slowly as I found them picked them off. They are getting smart, and when I get up close to the tree they don't look at me. So it's hard to find them in the tree. Slowly though, by changing sounds on the caller and walking away and then shining the tree I would find them. Two of the coons I had to put a couple of bullets under them in the tree to get them to move and ultimatley look at me. Next time I can't find them in the tree I think I am going to drop the red lense on my scope light to see if I can find them better with the white light. Any way, getting back to the topic of this post. After putting all the coons in my decoy bag, my daughter carried my unloaded gun and I carried the coons. That made it way easier. She was a real trooper. I wish I would have taken pictures but when I got home I dropped her off and then took the coons to my local fur buyer. It was a good night of making memories.
