Hi
I am planning to move to colorado in the next year or so. I plan to trap there and I see snaring Is legal. Whats the best way to snare for Coyote, bobcat, fox and coon? what about rabbit and squirrel?(for fun and food on the rabbit and squirrel)
I have never snared befor and dont really know the proper technique for this any help here?
thanks alot guys

Better double check that. I know it mentions snares in the small game proclamation but those are only to be used with a special permit. These permits are only issued if you can prove predator deprivation on livestock. When you move to Colorado you will find the DOW likes to be vauge and hard to figure.

At least I was never informed I could use snares, and boy I would like to!

Colorado is live (cage) trap only-unless someone knows something I don't.

Not much room left in CO. Might try NM. I hear there's lots of room down by T. Tebbe. And you can snare, trap and still take a leak out in the back yard if'n ya get the urge.

Huntigal gave you good info. CO trapping/snaring (except cage) for the normal CO resident has been lost forever.

in '96 they passed anti trapping law because they passed the responsability to the dept of AG. You can only trap if you are a control guy or recieve a permit. That is why southern WY is so good for calling and trapping coyotes. The over population of predators are moving up into WY for a place to live.

Colorado, California, and Arizona are 3 states to stay out of if you plan to trap. all 3 are Anti Trapping, except for use of a cage trap. might want to rethink your moving there if you can.
