Better quality cleaning rod?

I use the older style of that Otis kit for on long back pack hunts. I don't use it at home. I put a couple of the critical sized allen wrenchs in mine and took out the stuff that is not the size for the rifle that I am hunting with. It is better for what I use it for than the fishing line trick.

I quit using brushes once I found Wipe-Out foam does a better job without the risk of dinging up the crown, I just use the rod to push patches now. I could get along fine with a piece of fishing line, actually.

I'm just sayin.

Evil,

I hear ya, and lots of guys are using Wipe-Out like you with good success. I just haven't crossed that bridge yet. Old age and orneryness prevent me from doin that.

Tipton carbon fiber rods for me. I broke a .17 cal rod, replaced under their lifetime warranty...no harm, no foul.
