Big Missouri Bobcat

That is absolutely awesome! Tell him congratulations on that cat! I think that one should be mounted and showed off at the NMCC coming up this January! Hint, hint!

The spots are fantastic on that cat. I bet he wished he would have called that cat in? I shot my cat on Firday about 70 NW of you. We're only allowed one in Iowa. Not as big as yours though. What did yours weigh? I don't see too bad of exit wound on him. I assume if he was deer hunting, he was using a .243 or larger? Talking to the fur buyer the other day on the state line between us, he said that he's gotten some very large bobcats in the last few years in our area. He said 35 to 40 pounders weren't too uncommon. We are pretty lucky to have these big cats around. Congrats again!

According to the feed scale 51 lbs. I know the one on the record books at MDC is a lot less. But it is also from what a buddy told us is 10 yrs old. We already tagged it in with our local conservation officer and he's tagged in others weighing more than the "offical" record one. We get a lot of big bobcats up here and my husband had a 52 lb one a couple of years ago and has shot several in the 40 plus. We are too cheap to drive down to Columbia from where we live to have it weighed in as several others would be.
