I have joined the ICE-out campaign, Jack frost shouldn't operate much below the mason - dixon line. I have been actively protesting while carrying my pistol indoors. While actively avoiding direct contact with the ICE agents outside.
Bastion my Australian immigrant buddy had no issues with ICE, he frolicked freely in the sleet/snow. They didn't detain nor attempt to kidnap him. As he had his "papers" attached to his collar.
Okay enough of the parody / comic parts

Although yes it is unseasonably cold for this region, not really uncommon there are cycles where the artic blast extends it's touch deep into the southern states. Producing these conditions ever so often, usually decades apart.
This one for us here in my location, came in the fashion I had hoped for. Sleet then snow, which was my second choice, I had hoped for just straight snow as the best case. The one that I absolutely would not have wanted was freezing rain then sleet/snow. This was this bad for certain states, Yes the freezing rain is crippling because of the weight on the trees / limbs and powerlines. The good effect of the freezing rain is it actually insulates to a large degree for certain fruit trees. Of course all or at least most reading this is very aware of this.
Now to see what the second round brings, cold for sure, the question will be how much precipitation it will produce. I'm in hopes of very little.
