I have both crooked horn and badlands. Crooked horn is nice, light, and keeps binos close and handy. I bought a Badlands though after dropping into the prone to take a shot at a nice antelope in Wyoming. At the time I didn't realize I was grinding a $2K pair of glass into the shale and dirt. badlands is a little bigger and bulkier but offers a level of protection. I used to bang the binoculars now and then setting up tree stands in the dark with the crooked horn.
I'm very happy with Badlands, but if you can get a comparable product like the Alaska pack that is made in USA, I would start there.
