I have used one of these for years and really liked it.
I really like these. They are light weight and very packable. Also, you can get them a lot cheaper on sale.

I haven't had a ton of experience using a tripod during the day. I have a BOG Deathgrip for night hunting that I've been meaning to try in the day, but I can't bring myself to do it because I get nervous that I won't be able to turn fast enough. Even when I'm using the tripod setup to hook up to my binos and glass, I feel like I can't maneuver super well so I imagine that it would be worse if I had a gun behind it. I've noticed that guys that use tripods tend to use larger seats than simple butt-pads or in my case, a Sly Dog. Maybe a bigger seat would allow you a little more maneuverability, but I can't say for sure.
I used Vern Howie's shooting sticks for a long time. They were great. Recently switched to the Tricer-RP Bipod and it's also been great.
Iāve never sat on a pad with a tripod. I would imagine my feet would get in the way if I wasnāt careful, a chair helps with my legs being in the right spot.
