Black Coyote or Domestic Dog??? TrailCam pics!

I don't know if NY still has the law we had when I was growing up there but any dog with out a collar was fair game! Shot on site especially during deer season! Same here in Idaho -uncollared dogs get shot! Cause between them and yotes and now wolves the Ranchers are not happy! Granted we don't have much of a wild dog problem here cause the wolves will kill them quick and the yotes will too!
 
Looks like a cross to me. Based on the pinecones in the photo, it's about coyote size...not shepard size. If it's running with coyotes, then it needs to be treated like a coyote.

Looking at the pics posted I have to vote for Coy-dog.
If it is a dog in the pics it has been established that the "dog" in question has been "running" with coyotes for quite some time making it feral and a danger to people and livestock...
I have passed up shots on domestic dags that have responded to my calling on more than one occasion. But in this case guilt by long association seems likely.


I don't know a lot about coydogs but the ones I seen on the internet had tails that never developed all the way like a long bob tail.

That's been my 1st hand experience also.
Short, screwed up tails & weird pointy ears.

my vote goes to a dog ran away from somehwere and turned into a feral dog or something like that
 
Here is a coyote that was killed in South. Hmmm, sure looks a lot like the animal that originally started this post doesn't it? Even has some light colored paws. I'll stick with my first assertation and I still say it's a black coyote and not a dog.

That darn dog sleeping on the tailgate looks just like the one caught on the trail cam.
