I'd bet $$ no one has ever posed this question here at PM. I'm thinking of painting a gun I have in a blaze orange camo pattern. I painted the stock of an old Glenfield .22 blaze safty orange a couple years ago. I use that gun for coon hunting and I got tired of trying to find it everytime I leaned it against a tree to skin a coon. Worked very well for it's purpose. Anyway, I'm thinking about doing the same, except in a camo pattern, with another of my hunting guns.
Anyway, here's the question: How effective is/can blaze orange camo? I know critters can't see colors but I've heard of some studies where they say that deer might be able to see bright colors such as blaze orange due to UV. True or not? Or are critters just going to see it as a shade of grey?
