"Blu-ray" / HD Coyote Hunting DVD - Feedback Request

We will be picking up a new "Blu-ray / HD" coyote hunting video in July.

I'm looking for feedback / market interest in true Blu-Ray / HD coyote hunting video's. I'm also aware several well known coyote hunting video makers are investing in HD camera equipment, so i'm sure they will be interested in your comments as well.

With more and more of us buying plasma flat screen and LCD H.D. TV's as well as blu-ray players, It was only a matter of time before someone used HD equipment to film a coyote hunting video and released a blu-ray / HD video.

With that in mind, couple questions for you.

1. Do you own a Plasma / HD TV?

2. Do you own a Blu-ray player?

3. Will you be buying a blu-ray player to complement your HD TV any time soon?

4. Is buying a Blu-ray coyote hunting video something you are interested in.

5. would a $39.95 Blu-ray video price cure you of any interest, or would you still look seriously at purchasing the blu-ray video.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.

I know the times change and all. I would think the 39.95 sticker is a reflection of what it might cost to produce a Blu-Ray. The price being worth it would depend on how GOOD the calling & footage is. If it's clear, concise footage of spectacular hunting, then it's probably worth it. If not, then $19.95 would be too much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We have a plasma TV, but not a Blu-Ray player. Just a regular DVD player. Do they play in that as well?
I'll try it after I un-jam the 8 track I tried to play in it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Seriously, I see that as the latest medium that will be replaced in 7-8 years with something better, might as well go for it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Hope this helps.

No, but now it's common for a Blu-Ray disc to have a standard format version included, also. You can watch the standard version now, and have the HD version available once you get a Blu-Ray player.

They're not all like that, but it's catching on.

Yes, the price is a reflection of the cost to produce the blu-ray disk.

From what I've seen, the video is crystal clear. I personally would enjoy a true HD video on my plasma or LCD HD TV... Only time I get it, is when I'm watching the HD channel on direct TV.

I'm new to the world of the blu-ray, don’t own one either. I'll have to look into buying one.

As for the question if the blu-ray will play in the dvd payer? Someone smarter then me will have to answer that.

Recently purchased a big LCD and with it a Blu Ray player. When it is an option, we always grab the Blu Ray of the movie we're renting.

With regard to a new predator hunting blue ray disc coming out on the market. I own dozens of predator hunting DVDs and enjoyed them when I initially bought them but after seeing the same type of shots over and over and over I have grown bored of them. Let's see something new for a change. Do something different. Mark Zepps mountain lion kill captured on film was about the last time I was actually interested in purchasing a DVD. A company who steps into the Blu Ray / High Definition market defiantly has me and my wallet's attention but if it's going to be the same old type of footage you wont get $20 out of me anymore.

No offense to anyone.

Hello AP, I don't even know what blu-ray is. I have a feeling that if the price goes up much on the videos it won't go over too good.

1. Do you own a Plasma / HD TV? - NO

3. Will you be buying a blu-ray player to complement your HD TV any time soon?-NO

4. Is buying a Blu-ray coyote hunting video something you are interested in.-NOPE

1. Do you own a Plasma / HD TV? - NO

2. Do you own a Blu-ray player?- NO

3. Will you be buying a blu-ray player to complement your HD TV any time soon? I'm planning on buying an HDTV and Blu-ray player in the near future.

4. Is buying a Blu-ray coyote hunting video something you are interested in. Yes

5. would a $39.95 Blu-ray video price cure you of any interest, or would you still look seriously at purchasing the blu-ray video. I'd anticipate paying more for the blu-ray but it would have to be outstanding footage for me to pay $39.95. I think if you could get the cost down below $30 it would appeal to a lot more people.

There is no comparison between a standard definition dvd and a blue ray. I doubt that the market will be strong enough to justify the companies putting them out. Personally, I'd pay the difference if the footage is well done. The detail is outstanding. My Blue Ray player automatically upscales standard dvd's to 1080i resolution which represents a big step up, but no where near as good as Blue Ray.

NO beacuse im not going to spend several hundred dollars to play a $40 movie

5. would a $39.95 Blu-ray video price cure you of any interest, or would you still look seriously at purchasing the blu-ray video.
Yes. It's a bit steep for a movie.

But im cheap.

yes i have an hd tv and no to the rest 40 bucks for a movie not a chance for this guy. i have dozens of the regular definition predator dvds, but just couldn't justify 40 bucks plus shipping. ouch

I'm old school all the way. I buy every coyote DVD that hits the market. The last one I bought was the Fox pro and I almost backed out after spending 27.00 for it and the shipping. I know I wont spend the money for a Blue-ray. Brent

4. Is buying a Blu-ray coyote hunting video something you are interested in. NO, UNLESS IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME AS AN EXCEPTIONAL PIECE OF WORK

5. would a $39.95 Blu-ray video price cure you of any interest, or would you still look seriously at purchasing the blu-ray video. THIS WOULD BE HIGH FOR ME

Typically I watch a hunting dvd because I want to learn something new about predator hunting. I do not just like to sit and watch as entertainment other guys shooting coyotes over and over so I am more concerned with a dvd's informational content rather than the entertainment value of HD kill shots. To me it just isn't worth another ~$20 tacked to the dvd's price.

BTW, when I purchase hunting dvds I usually buy them from your company and you and your team really do a great job. Your printed catalog is really something and it sits on my coffee table, too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
