Any of you boys up North use or try Blue Jay sounds or Decoys for dogs and cats?

I'm originally from mid-Michigan and am coming home for x-mas and wanted to give them a try.

Also I will be introducing my brother to predator hunting and wondered if the jays would be of any use to him.

Thanks......Jon

Im not from up north but I would say yes,I use a woodpecker decoy here in ky. I would also say get you a turkey feather and a couple inches of fishing line and some swivels and tie the feather with swivels to a arrow that has the fletching cut off and stick it in the ground and let the wind blow and WOW you have a hurt bird for sure ! I had a dog chew toy that looked like a rabbit ,set this out next to the FOXPRO XR-6 and this was deadly 2 or 3 times last year!!! GOODLUCK AT WHATEVER YOU USE!!!!

Blue Jay, Woodpecker, or any other bird sounds all work well for me. And the feather on a arrow also works very well. Good luck!

I built my own blue jay decoy that is quite similar to the Whirling Woodpecker decoy. It works well with any sound, including blue jay distress, as the motion is what catches the predators eye. MI VHNTR
