Bobcats attacking dogs....

Has anyone ever heard of a bobcat attacking a small dog? I had a lady call me today wanting me to come shoot one that she has seen in her yard twice in the last week. She is scared to let her small poodle outside. May be an easy job, I told her to call the DNR and get me a permit for an out of season kill. And a night hunting permit to boot. Maybe I will get a chance to go try and call it in.
 
Have not heard of specific bobcats targeting dogs, but know a few rabbit hunters that have had to stitch their dogs up after a run-in with Mr. Bob... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif sounds like you have a good thing going for ya. One of the best hunts that I have ever had was night hunting a big tom in PA, only difference was it was the dead of winter and we had 8 inches of snow on... GOD I miss snow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
 
Have not even been lucky enough even to have ever seen a bobcat in my area,not even a track.I have had several instances where a yote came after our hounds however.Even had a hound grabbed by a bear once.
 
Can you meow like two cats about to fight? (Those loud meows are made during the mating ritual) Well, they're also called the "Bobcat-in-Heat" call and are deadly year 'round, day or night.
Great for Feral Cats as well....
 
I wouldn't know why a big bob wouldn't make a snack of a little poodle. I know for a fact they'll kill housecats. I have a family member that let her cat out in the back yard before bedtime and was sitting in her dining room absently minded looking through the patio door waiting for the cat. Suddenly the pet cat jumped back onto the deck and scrambled for the patio door when according to her a very large bobcat jumped onto the deck and snatched her pet making off into the dark with another bound. She lives in one of those yuppie subdivisions with the cool trendy names on five acres far enough outside town to have wildlife commonly seen around the neighborhood. I asked if she was going to make a habit of feeding the bobcat because I'd like to come over for the show sometime. She gave me the stare... you know, the one that leaves you thinking you'll end up in a real hot place someday... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
