Bog pod death grip question

Hello everyone,
I have been a Harris bipod guy forever, but here recently have tried cheap tripods and like them. I just put a swagger on and the jury is still out on it. Everyone knows it’s hard to swing rifle with gun mounted bipod. I usually set my rifle up and it’s propped against my shoulder and shotgun on lap in my hands. Problem is when I use the shotgun the rifle gets in the way. For example, this evening had one run in and went to get shotgun up and rifle fell over but got the dog! I was interested in the death grip to hold my rifle at the ready while holding shotgun. How much can you move the death grip head on moving dog and if I had to come off tripod how quick can you do that?

Thanks
Jon

Cannot answer your question on tripod ,I use Bog Adrenalin bipod.Went with the Switcheroo attachment and can move it pretty easy.Have used tripods but this bipod fits my needs better than any others I have tried.

Moves pretty well but after decades and many swivels, bipods, tripods, sticks, grips, etc have learned that despite it's weight one should stick with the swiveling Harris.2 cents worth.

Use one gun, combo, drilling or rifle with low power variable, lots of scopes out there that will give you at least a 50' FOV on the bottom end and go to 8x, 10x, or 12x on the top. Less stuff to carry to the stand.

I love the idea of a combo gun if I could find one that’s not expensive or some caliber I have no use for. Any suggestions? I know the shotgun needs be 12ga with screw chokes and at least 223.

Thanks
Jon

Screw in chokes are not a game changer. You don't need to have ultra tight patterns to reach with the shotgun as you have the rifle for anything beyond the shotgun range. I use 1 1/4oz of BB's in my 12ga ones and 1oz of BB's in my 16ga.

If they are important to you old American arms/Marocchi had interchangeable chokes, Finn classics do and Briley, Colonial or Mike Orlen can add them.

Simpsons in Galesburg, Ill has them coming in from Europe regularly. Most are in 222 Rem or 5.6x52R(22 Sav Highpower). I shoot a BRNO in 22 Sav Highpower/12ga.

Thanks so much!! You can PM if you have anymore advice about combo guns. I used a savage 24 years ago but the scope base wasn’t very good.

Thanks again
Jon
