I'm very confident in my bolt gun. I have been drooling over the looks of the new Browning BAR and it's engraving. I have been hunting with a synthetic stock for years and was thinking about going back to a more traditional wood gun.
I have a number of very accurate bolt guns, but I also have a number of nicely accurate semi-autos, like AR-15s, AR-10s, M1As, and a Browning BAR LW Stalker, in 308 Win.
While I love to work a nice smooth bolt action, nothing brings a bigger smile to my face, than piling a bunch of fast shots into a small group, spreading brass all over the place.

As has been stated, not enough difference in accuracy of bolt gun over gas gun and for that matter no negligible difference in hunting scenarios as to time required for follow up shots.
This is an SR1 target (200 yard rapid fire reduced to 100 yd.) the 10 ring is 3.25". 10 shots fired from sitting position w/mod 70 bolt gun-5 round fixed magazine (requires one magazine reload) and iron sights. Shooter starts from standing position, bolt open w/60 second time limit. Oops, hurried that last shot!
This target is an MR-31, 600 yd target reduced to 100 yd. 10 ring is 1.75", xring .75". 20 shots from prone position slow fire w/NM M1 Garand. Time limit 20 minutes for 20 rounds.
Another string shot with Mod. 70 bolt gun, iron sights using an SR-21 300 yd. target reduced to 100 yd. 10 ring is 2.12", x ring .79". Course of fire is 10 rounds, requires one magazine re-charge; start from standing w/70 seconds time limit.
Choose what you prefer, either will do the job, IMO.
