I was just looking at the snake slayer that Bond Arms offers in .45lc/.410 shotshell.Anyone else own one of these or any other type of derringer. I was looking at one for snake/rats around the farm.

My uncle has one but at about 15 yards your only making the snake madder. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gifSo I agree with blindog get a 22 pistol they are alot cheaper to feed than a 410 is.But I will say that a Snake Charmer 410 works good for any pests that may cross your path. You dont have to try very hard to hit a rat on the run or a rattlesnake trying to crawl away from you.Just point and shoot and it will flatten a rat or take a snakes head off real easy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifMy Snake Charmer goes with me everywhere in the Spring when there is a chance I will find some rats or a buzzworm. And it was alot cheaper than my uncles derringer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have the Texas Defender which has the shorter barrel and I carry it in my car loaded with buckshot. Don't try to car jack me up close. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It is more accurate than you think. I shot some 45's through it and it hit the tree I was aiming at. I traded my .17 HMR and a few bucks for it.

The Bond Arms pieces are very impressive. Get the Snake Slayer, that little piece on the grip makes a huge difference. Nice gun, well made, but big.
