Went to Northern Minnesota for the weekend. Fresh snow and cold temps were perfect to make a couple quick stands.

Blanked the first but had two sound off on the second. Was calling over a slew of cattails and a frozen pond on my father in laws land. The pair wouldn’t come in so I closed a couple hundred yards closer to them. Hit them with some Fire Sauce and they came running in to fight!

Shot the first one on the pond, which wasn’t frozen enough to hold my heavy ass. Fell in a few times getting it. After folding the first one, pup distress brought the second giant male circling down from the call. Shot him at sub 70 yards and watched him run to his death. That second one was huge! I’m going to start carting a scale but he was easily in that 40lb range.

Nice going, Duhhh! Your description of "huge" for a 40 lbs coyote kind of makes me chuckle coming from you, A guy that, for sure kills his fair share of coyotes. Not chuckling at you personally, just the bunch of people that doubt the sizes of some that folks post on here. 40 lbs is pretty common here in the NE for adult coyotes. Females included.

It's cool to see that you can still drop them when they're not 400 plus yards away! Lol... That has to be a rarity for you! Nice work!

Yeah that’s hog from what I’m accustomed to shooting. Sometimes I’ll get one of those big coyotes but very rarely. I’m going to get a scale to start packing around this season.

Haha I’ll shoot them wherever they’ll give me a shot. This set up has been confirmed out to 600 yards on steel, just in case I’m feeling extra confident.
