Boondocks comic strip

I like the strip. And I liked Wednesdays strip.
I think it was excellent. Mon. and Tues. were out of line with my way of thinking.

Here is the big problem. The NY Daily News has stopped printing it. They did this after 9/11 when the strips pointed out that Reagan and (big) Bush funded Bin Laden. We all know its true, it doesn't (for one second) mean they are to blame for what happened.

As we always say here, we might not agree with what others say, but we'll defend their right to say it. I will stand up for the guy who wants to ban guns to say what he wants, but after that, I might "sit him down".

This strip is an odd one. It has a history of depicting that kid being exreemly dark, and I don't mean his skin color. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I find it just disturbed.

The main problem I find with the past few days hits on the NRA is that they simply have no basis in fact. For parody to be funny, it needs to have some connection to the reality of what you're poking fun at and this doesn't.

If you simply wish to attempt to turn public opinion against your target, then this approach may be more effective, as the unaware may indeed think you're presenting a somewhat accurate picture.

Well said Stu. I found the strips based on pure steroetypes and nothing else. What I found stupid about them was that no attempt at anything original was put forth. But I took the strip on 7-10 different.

Huey said something like, if we could get rid of all of them ( republican, conservative, gun lovers) then we would not need guns.

Ceasar says, do you think that they are thinking the same thing? ( dems, liberals, bunny huggers).

Now he obviously forgets about hunting altogether, but I took that as being funny and quite true. Maybe I misunderstood it.

Anyway, it is back in print in the daily news. The daily news seems to believe in and practice censorship alot these days.
