Bore to bullet diameter

With a 204 ruger does anyone know what the bore diameter should be?? If mic the end of the barrel does 1.94 sound correct? That's most likely the rifling.. I mic it at 4 different points and got 1.94 3 times and 1.96 once.. Thanks all.. Dan

Land height in a modern rifle is usually .003 to .005, I don't believe there is a exact standard. Groove diameter is a little more exact as being under size would raise pressure and being oversize would allow blow-by.

I have older rifle that has a land height of .010 the bore diameter is .344 and groove diameter is .364

How does that rifle shoot... Dan

It takes a special stepped bullet and has been killing stuff for 110 years. So far with factory ammo "minute of coyote" even with a heavily corroded bore.

next step is paper patched bullets, I have some wrapped but need more time to work with them.

I do the paper patched ones, I have the mold and templates for the patches and have wrapped a few.

The stepped jacketed bullet is from Buffalo Arms.

I used to make jacketed bullets for my 45 Colt but sold the pistol, still have the dies but haven't used them in 40 years.
