Hey Guys

I'm thinking about getting a borescope and I don't know what to get. I have rifles with .17 caliber bores all the way up to .458 Win mag and if possible, would like to have one that will work for them all. If this is really not feasible, then at least one for the .224 bores.

I have a couple of buddies that I might be able to go in with me on this so the total expense will not all be on me.

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.

If more of a budget then probably this. I had this one but sold it because I thought I was going to upgrade, and then life happened and I never got another one. It was "ok" and sure better than nothing, but I have seen the one that connects to video and it is exceptional. You can take "frames" of the video and go to photoshop or something and really "look down into" spots in the barrel.

Not saying that Sinclair has the best price, just linked there because I knew they had them.

Get a Hawkeye. I looked at several and the Hawkeye was the best. If you wait a couple months I'll let you try it out!

Rusty,

One of Hawkeye's models will work in the 17's all the way up to the big bores. They are sleeved and you have to take the outside sleeve off for 17 cals. You lose the magnifying aspect when the outside sleeve is removed but you can still check things out in the 17 cal. Hope this helps........

Wow! You got one? I'm impressed! I have wanted one for years and never even looked through one. I have heard that is the only way you can tell if you got your barrel truly clean is to bore scope it.

Yes, I can wait until we meet up early next summer. Be a long wait though! Sure looking forward to it!

Not only that you will see any erosion, firecracks, carbon, neck & throat problems & you can use it for other non gun related stuff.

Not someone the likes of you that runs outta ammo afer your first 40 round box of American Eagle is empty and "need" to borrow some of mine. Not someone that drinks all of their coffee then wants mine too. Not someone who is ALWAYS going "Gee Russ, I sure wish that someday you'd learn me how to shoot them critters like you do! Yassah! It was nice for you to set me up with your sister last month. But fearing that she whould get too attached to me (like they ALL do) I really had no choice but to call immigration and have her deported. I might have accidentally given the border patrol your address as well. Just slipped out somehow. Dont' you worry about a thing though- if you ever find me then the guns that I am keeping in safekeeping will be fine too. If you can ever find them that is.
