I am an avid bowhunter and there is no excuse for what happened to your friends dog. Any Hunter should of recognized the breed as a hunting breed and to have shot that dog on public land no less is reprehensible. I admire you and your buddies restraint at the time and not escalating the situation, I don't think I could have done that.
