Brand new gun problem already, Help!

No there not actually, but im not home right now to take a picture. Those were a 55 grain bullet with 35 grains of powder. The other ones he loaded were 38 grains of powder, should I not even shoot those?

The type of powder for the first ones was 2230 35G. The second 10 he is having me test out is AH350 38G. Any Suggestions??

Here is a pic of the primer for the guy who asked about them

HMM. Can't see too much of the primer but a heavier than normal bolt lift isn't good. The only hand loads I'll shoot are the ones that I made. Can you be 100% sure the ammo was loaded correctly?

Its an old guy who has done it for awhile, he loads for alot of different people and goes to alot of gun shows and seems like he knows what he is doing. I dont know how to reload or else I would do it!

I will not reload for my friends unless they give me a few pieces of fired brass and their rifle for me to take measurements.
When I was younger a friend of mine reloaded some 7mag for me from his dads powder stash,I cant remember what he used but it wasnt the right stuff.Lots of blowback hit and cut my face and im positve I would have lost an eye or both if I hadnt been wearing glasses.Had a heck of a time trying to get that bolt open, took it to a gunsmith and he shook his head as he said''1st time reloading?''.Forget about saving a few bucks and stick to factory ammo if you arent going to do it yourself.Your eyes will thank you for it.

Its hard to justify going back to factory ammo at 25-30 dollars a box or giving a guy 15 for them. I will have to talk to him before I shoot the next batch I guess.

I told the guy who reloads for me and he rigged up a bullet for me. He cut the head off put a steel rod where the primer is and told me to put some grinding compound on the casing and very slowly run it in and out of the gun to see if there are any markings on the casing. If there are to keep doing it and it will eventually grind it down. Then he said to just clean the gun.

You're kidding, right?

DON'T DO IT - he doesn't have the slightest idea of what he's talking about.

I'll second that motion! I'd also stick with the factory ammo or invest in the reloading equipment and learn to do it right if you want to shoot handloads. Saving a few bucks here may cost you a rifle or your eyesight in the end.

I am an older man and have been doing this for longer than your friend - and I spent 7 years as a working gunsmith... You will damage your chamber and throat.

But go ahead and do it.

This is what he rigged up for me, A factory loaded bullet that he just took apart and put the rod in it to put in the barrel slowly without generating heat he said. Anyone else got good suggestions if I shouldnt do this?
