Brass catcher suggestions

I'm loosing to much brass with my AR-15 and would like to know what brass catchers work good. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks,
Jeff

For a quick fix, I've taken a baseball cap (one with a snap or velcro adjustable band), hooked it around the scope and let it drape over the ejection port. The brass just kind of lands beside the gun. It works best off of a bench. There are several brands of actual brass catchers out there, but I haven't used any. I'm the kind of guy that looks at something, says "I'm not paying that much for that", spends twice that much in material trying to make it myself, then goes back later and cusses as he shells out the cash to buy it.

I am also trying to figure out a decent brass catcher for an AR. I dont like any commercialy available ones so I am going to tinker around with some ideas and try to make one.

I remember seeing a thread on it before, but I couldn't find it. I think that Dtech had one he suggested. I've tried making one that hooked to my scope, but I didn't like the idea of hanging stuff on my scope.

I use a DPMS brass catcher that has a zipper in the side. It velcros around the rear of the handguard and holds the bag over the ejection port. It will hold approximately 50 rounds of brass or if you leave the zipper open, it will drop the extracted hulls onto the table. They sell for about $35 at Midway Arms.
Mine saves a lot of time and stooping recovering my brass.. much easier on the old body.

The brass-catcher that Oldturtle is refering to is made by WOOK enterpises, DPMS sells them as well as many others.

The WOOK is the catcher that I have been useing for many years now. I have tried other, even made my own early on. None have worked as well as the WOOK. (with a name like that, you had better work!)

I stock them so jjrobo, if you need one, I sell them for $38.00 shipped.

I got the one from bushmaster the hard plastic one...I had to trim it so it would fit under the scope and snap on to the rifle....It works great....

I am making one of my own. I got the idea from looking at a pair of old blue jeens with a torn hem on the bottom. I thought if I cut about 10" off of the leg, run a vinyl coated wire in the hem and put a zipper on the other end it should work.
Shooting off the bench, open zipper and put the end in an ammo can.
In the field, close zipper and hunt away till full.
Well that led to getting some cammo material and having the wife sew one up. She is sewing one right now to test tomarrow if the weather permits. Let me know if you want a pic, my email is in my profile. She could be persueded to make some more I think.....
