Brass Out of Stock/Backordered/Overdue

Hoping someone can help answer this question...where is all the brass? Specifically I'm looking for 300WM and it doesn't seem to be available anywhere...Midway, Midsouth, Natchez, Gunbroker, etc, etc. I wanted to try some long range shooting this year (family health issues have nixed this) and the rifle I have likes Federal brass the best so I was looking for a couple hundred cases from the same lot that I could get prepped. For a couple months haven't seen it in stock, anyone have an explanation or idea why?

It's a popular cartridge. I don't know if it would affect availability, but the military is increasingly using 300 win mag in their sniper rifles...

I am not sure if 300 WM brass fits in this category, but most cartridge brass goes through cycles. The most common cartridges, like 223 Rem, and 308 Win, seem to be around, but the less popular cartridges like 204 Ruger, 6mm Rem., etc., go in spurts. It will be around when manufacturers do a run, and then it will be almost impossible to find, when that run is sold. When I see a new run hit the market, I buy enough to get me through a few years of no brass available. This makes it difficult for new rifle acquisitions, or newbee loaders, looking for brass, if it isn't something brass manufacturers do regular runs for, but it is a fact of reloader's lives. When you find it, you better buy it. If you don't use it, just wait for the next brass drought, and sell it. At least I have heard that is the strategy...I have never sold any of my brass hoard.

Thanks Ghostman! I didn't know about ammoseek, but I've got it bookmarked now.
Squeeze...Exactly my plan to stock up, probably 500 cases to last the better part of the life of the barrel.

I've got a bunch of mixed headstamp 300WM brass, but this rifle really seems to like Federal and for long range want to keep it from the same lot if possible so everything is uniform.

As always, patience, patience, patience.

RWS brass is really good. It is expensive but would likely way outlast the fed/Win/Rem brass. I still have 50 pieces that are headstamped Lapua but recently heard Norma made it for them.. It is really good brass though.
Good Luck whichever way you go..
