Broke in the New NocPix

Got me a new NocPix 640 H50R a few days ago, and got it sighted in. Due to another bout of hot, humid, & smoky air on the way, I decided I needed to give it a go. Typically I start the end of August, but I broke tradition.

Worked up a hellacious sweat getting to the back 40 over looking a cut & raked hay field in the corner facing west, woods to my back & left. Light wind from the left, so expecting action to come from my right from over the hill. Set the caller out at 75 yards and settled in.

Started with some pup sounds for 10 minutes, then went into light squeaker stuff. Managed to suck a doe out of the woods from the left. She stood there for a couple 3 minutes, then started staring into the woods. Pretty soon she blew out of there, and then the reason why showed up.

I took the shot, not knowing another was on the way too, which I saw hauling ass after the shot. I threw one it's way too with little effect.

Shooting the 6x6.8 SPC with 70 Ballistic Tips at 3220. I knew the split second I shot it was back a ways, but she was DRT.

Not as high as the video suggests on the adult female.

Dead is dead, I'll take it.

Nice shot! It’s so hot and humid, I can’t get in the mood. But it won’t be long.
Thanks....

My motivations were.....I got the guns sighted in, I was anxious to take the new scope out, was supposed to get in the mid 60's that evening prior to the next round of heat coming, and the two electric fences I have to get through were open due to cutting & raking the hay in the back fields.

Luckily I left before dark, as the farmer had closed the gates some time after I had left that afternoon, so I still had enough light to circumvent getting roasted.

In a couple three weeks things should pick up.
