Browning BLR

Anyone here shoot a Browning BLR? Are they accurate guns? I really like lever action rifles, and I want one in a versatile caliber, like 30-06. It seems like the BLR might be my kind of gun.
 
Mine is a 22-250. Strong actions and accurate guns. While lever actions get a bad rap for accuaracy The Browning lever guns have a strong bolt lockup that is conducive to good accuracy. The Browning lever guns can also shoot pointed bullets due to not using tube feed and they are chambered in many calibers. Buy the gun you will be happy with it.
 
I've had a Japan built .308Win BLR since 1983, great rifle, shoots sub moa with factory ammo, I've killed a lot of deer and elk with it, it's one fine rifle!! It's best described as a lever action bolt rifle!! Here's a pic of me and the BLR with the biggest blacktail I've ever killed.

I've had three BLR's over the years. A .243, .308. and presently a .358 Win. They were/are all accurate. My .358 is a real powerhouse for the modest case (.308 family) and it puts 4 hooves in the air pretty fast. I want to shoot a coyote with it!
 
I've killed several yotes with the BLR, but they were just inocent bystanders, I wasn't hunting them, they just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time. One of em was a good 250-300yds away, though.

Washington blacktails typically weight 100-130lbs for a nice buck, but this one I suspect is a hybrid cross tween a mulie and blacktail, he weigh 169lbs hanging at the locker.

I and my Dad both have older steel frame BLR's in .308 and they're honeys. Accurate, reliable, good handling, they are fine rifles. I don't have experience with the newer alloy receiver rifles but have no reason to expect less from them.
 
Would you guys recommend the pistol grip or the straight grip? I held one with a straight grip and it seemed like a pistol grip might suit me better. Any opinions?
 
I have shot both and own and prefer the straight grip. I think it is just a matter of personal taste. To me the pistol grip looks goofy on a BLR-but I like th pistol grip on my Marlin lever gun.
 
Personally, I like the straight grip. You'll have as many answers one way as the other I think. This is subjective and all about the "feel" of the gun to each person.
 
Mine have all been straight grip guns. Lean and mean! I really liked the looks of the new pistol grip guns in the pictures on the Browning web site, but in person I didn't like them at all. Too bulky.

Now the slightly older Lightnings with the round-knob pistol grip are pretty nice, nicer that the new flat-bottom pistol grip stocks, but they're only on the used market.
