Browning vs Ruger

I have never owned a Browning firearm, not because I don't like them, but it's because of the price. There are other brands that will work just as good without paying the high dollar.

Now, after having 4 Ruger bolt action rifle's (1 new & 3 used) I will never own another one. Bad triggers and it's hard to get good groups out of them and by good groups I mean in the 1/2" range for 270 up to 30 cal. This is even after doing the glass bedding & floating the barrels.

Just give me a good used Rem 700 and I'll make it shoot them tiny holes!

you know savage rifles can shoot and shoot well at that yet their actions are very rough and they are flat out ugly. other then that they are very nice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i like what browning puts out very nice rifles with little to no work needed to get them to shoot good.

winchester always seems to put out a nice rifle as well. not near as nice as the pre 64's yet they are still dam nice rifles

sako is a little more then a browning yet they are very nice! i have found putting out the extra money is worth it when dealing with sako. i have shot a lot of sako's and have never had or even really heard of any major problems

tikka has a good trigger and a nice action and they will shoot under 11/2 out of the box normally made by sako!

howa puts out a nice rifle also that will shoot good groups out of the box.

remington is a good choice and you have a lot of models to choice from.

these 7 rifles i would say are good choices

yet ruger i have found are not that nice they have rough bolts nasty triggers and you know why i won't buy another ruger? because you could buy 2 of the exact same rifles have one shoot 1 inch groups the other 4 inch groups put $600 extra in the one with the 4 inch groups by adding a trigger/floating/bedding/etc./etc.and they still sometimes won't shoot as good as the other one you haven't touched! and i hear about this happening way to much! YET i did buy the 204 ruger when they came out in the standard m77 put a trigger on it and it will put 5 holes touching each other if i do my part, i wasn't going to take the risk with a ruger yet no one else was making this caliber.

i would go with browning over the ruger for sure.

i would save $400 by buying a howa instead of the browning and put the extra cash in a scope and the gun will shoot as good as the browning if not better.

i would buy the savage if i wanted a gun to beat around and shoot under and inch for $400 if you don't mind looks

i would by the sako and smoke all the other rifles and my wallet would be lighter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Browning Never.
Ruger, I have several but!
Remington would be my choice.
I own just about every manufaturer there is but the Remingtons that I have shoot the best by far. The only other that comes close is my Weatherby. And I have to say to the people that like Brownings is that some people love them some dont. Just go to a match anywhere in the country and see what actions are there most.
Remington and Sako. No brownings.
