Browning X Bolt Max Long range 6.5 PRC

What are X bolt owners experience with their rifles ? I recently bought a X bolt Max long range and its shooting 3-4" groups at 100yds. But others rave about them. So mine is at gunsmiths being accurized .

I have had a 300 WSM X-bolt for several years. I do not reload and only shoot factory ammo. Mine has always shot less than an inch at 100 yards. With some ammo, it shoots much better. It sounds like you have a problem for sure. Good luck with it. I would sure be interested in hearing how this turns out.

Define "Accurized".

I've had one and seen several and they all shot pretty good. Maybe you should have contacted Browwning before taking it to the gunsmith. I think it had a 1 MOA guarantee. But if bought used, maybe thats why they sold it to begin with. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

No I bought it NIB from Sportsman's warehouse here in Reno .I did contact Browning and they were gonna provide me with a free shipping label . BUT I installed an aftermarket trigger spring, they said they won't test tire it until they remove and replace with factory spec spring, plus charge me for it. Also they shoot at 50yds and call 3 shots covered by a quarter good. No they don't have a 1 MOA guarantee. Besides I want 3 shots covered by a dime at 100yds or at least 3/4 MOA. They also said "typical problems are Bedding,Barrel crown and a good bore scrubbing". Well this rifle from 3 range sessions has about 70 rnds thru it and I chased the carbon/copper like i do with my other rifles. Accurizing I want a trued action in relation to centerline of bore, maybe a lapped bbl ,propper bedding job along with tuned up trigger. My gunsmith who has built a few 1/4 MOA rifles for me in the past feels confident he can make a shooter out of this.

Sorry your having problems. I replaced my spring with one from Mcarbo. It was a PITA but made a great trigger. Accuracy was really good in mine but it was 308. Browning's bedding jobs are kind of a joke. A glob of putty around the recoil lug is not bedding. Hope your smith gets it lined out for you. Let us know how it turns out.

Yes about the bedding ,that's the was the first observation my gunsmith made. Now after reading your response and others I'm even more confident it will be a shooter.
