BSA 4x16, worth the money?

Range is not the justification for better glass. Function, clarity, and longevity are my selling points. And $300 isn't much to spend for decent glass.

I have a couple of the BSA 6x24 30mm tacticals. For $150 they seem to me to be decent glass. I wouldn't pay msrp for one though. One's on a CZ 452, the other's on an AR in 6.5lbc. Both seem to track ok out to 200, which as long a lane as our range has. Do I want something better? You bet. One of these days i'll get it. In the meantime, however, I don't think they're a waste of money.

To hijack just a bit, does anybody have any experience with Konus?

Konus comment. At range I'm a member, Konus spotting scopes are well regarded and used by some of my fellow shooters. Only one gent I shoot with on occassion, uses Konus Pro scopes and has them on a couple on benchrest rifles. He likes them, thinks they are pretty good for a low priced scope.

Over last 2 or so years, have purchased 7 BSA scopes and mounted them on various cartridge rifles, such as 6.5x55 Swede, 257 Roberts, 308 Win. None are on a heavy recoil rifle. I just shoot paper, the majority of times at 100 yds, occassionally 200 yards. They have been more than adequate for my paper shooting and have been problem free. BSA models are Platinums, Majestic DXs, Gold Stars and a Contender. Except for the Platinums, the rest were introduced within last two years or so by BSA. Prices for them ran from $70 to $180. Being retired and having a limited budget for my shooting hobby, putting a BSA scope on a newly acquired rifle or rebuild is affordable for me.
