Bsa Scopes

I have a Deerhunter 2.5X on my 12 ga shotgun. Shooting 3" mag sabot slugs and have NOT had ANY problems in the last 3 years with it. It holds zero and is clear as my Leupold or Bushnell Elites. And it cost me only $29.95~~~~GO Figure.

Its not just BSA, scopes in general took a turn for the worst a few years ago, when all the cheaper manufacturers started getting their scopes made in china and the phillipines, instead of japan, around the time tasco went bust roughly. I always bought tasco years ago, because they were jap, and also had a BSA 4x40 that was jap, and that was one of the finest scopes i,ve ever owned. The cheapies are ok until you turn up the mag, i,ve just got stung again, i bough a hawke for my rimfire, and its truly garbage.Quality comes at a price scopewise, unfortunatly, there are no bargains anymore, except maybe weavers, they are excellent for the money, otherwise, these days i buy leupold, or european.

I have had the same BSA 4x16x50 catseye with adjustable objrctive for over a year now.i had it on my rem 700 30-06 up until about a month or so ago.its on my NEF 204 now.i have had no prob with it at all.im actualy thinking of getting another one for my 7.62x54 m91 30.

SOOOOO, your all saying that BSA is the way to go. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Looks like that is one to steer clear of for sure.

ive always bought tasco or simmons and have never had a problem with either of them,,,but i have never had a BSA and after these post's i dont think i ever will

BSA stands for Broken Scope Again.
I've had 3-4 and they can't withstand the blast of my .270 I use during deer season.

I love mine have them on 4 or 5 rifles that have NEVER gave me a problem. They all carry a limited lifetime warrenty... call the company fi you have a problem such as these guys desribe.

I have been building a 8mm turkish mauser sporter. At first I had a Kalinka 2.5x10x50 scope put on this rifle. This is a big, heavy 3 post reticle scope. The rifle is pretty light now in it's fiberglass stock with shortened barrel and has significant recoil. Within the first 10 rounds fired the rifle had pulled the rear scope base loose. Back to the smith who suggested a scope that weighed a little less. He had a BSA 3x9x50 he wanted me to try. I wasn't thrilled with the choice, I had heard a lot of stories about these scopes going south on heavy recoiling guns. The smith told me that he would replace it if anything happened to it, that he had the same scope on his 7mm mag. I checked out the scope at the store, found the optics to be clear and bright and told him to go ahead. Got it back day before yesterday, went to the range yesterday and found the scope easy to zero, clear, with no problems. I shot up all of the Yugo surplus ammo I had on hand (around 40 rounds and I didn't really want to shoot anymore) with the rifle with no problems at all. This is 196gr heavy recoiling military surplus ammo. The scope held up well, the bases stayed put, no problems. I think I have my cheap deer rifle. For an ultra cheap (30 bucks)scope, I have no complaints.
