BSA sweet 17

Lots of shooters use the Sweet 17 at RFC, most like em, but some have had poor experiences with em, such is the BSA experience in general, a crap shoot, maybe lucky, maybe not.
 
Thanks for the input. About the only thing that really appeals to me about this scope is the bullet drop compensator. Maybe I will go see if Sportsmans Wearhouse has one to look at.
 
I have a BSA Sweet 17 and I do not like it. It is cheap, the clarity is poor outdoors(as compared to the gun show floor where I bought it), and the adjustments are not consistant.

I also got the Simmons ATV mentioned above on a rifle I traded for. I assumed it was a throw-a-way but I was wrong. For the money ($79)it is a decent scope.
 
seen tonight at bass pro they had a scope made by burris here is the web sight http://www.burrisoptics.com/special.html Go down to the very last scope on that page. From what was on the flier it has the drop for out to 300ds and wind compensation in 10 mph increments down to 300 yds. Looked to be a nice scope wish I woulda asked to see it, but now i have another excuse to go back dow to see it again.
 
Sorry about that,I should not make a blanket statement like that,I meant the BSA,Two of my friends bought them and had nothing but trouble with them,On one the ocular lens fell out on the 5th shot out of a 308 winchester,Of course he paid big bucks for the gun and little for the scope,On the second one after one box of rounds the crosshairs were no where to be seen in the scope,It wasn't 5 mins. before it happened that I warned him about putting a cheap scope on a 300 wsm.:)He now owns a Leupold.
 
I bought one for a ruger 17 and sighted it in. Shot great for a few hundred rounds now it won`t hold its accuracy. The clarity is bad and you have to constantly adjust the focus. I agree with the other people buy something else!!
 
I can not comment on the BSA, I have never even looked at one. I do have the simmons ATV mentioned above on my savage 17hmr and I am very pleased with it. I don't own any high priced scopes so I don't know how it compairs to them but it works for me. Mark.
