Bubble Level?

Are they needed? I am building a 6mmBR that I would like to take out to 500. I am looking at the Vortex bubble level. Is it worth the $40?

At 500yds, if your targets are small, they are definitely needed.

The one in the picture is a B-Square - when they are on sale at Midway, they are $11-$12 each.

They are G-R-E-A-T-!!


I have a Vortex, and the bubble is too high to use in the field - you cannot see the bubble and the target at the same time. I use it in the shop to set up scopes before mounting.

I use the same one pictured and they work fine and pretty cheap too.

Yes, get a level.
Cheap ones work, but I like Holland's the best.

IMO I like a level at the range but they don't come into play much when hunting coyotes

Actually, the top of the ring is on tight - the other side it almost touching - after I was finished setting up the scope, I made the two sides even.

When I set up a scope, I mount it so the elevation turret is all the way at the bottom of the adjustment range, when the rifle is zero'ed at 100 yds.

So the ring tops don't get final alignment till it's all done.

Yes, the entire capsule is visible over the top of the side focus knob when looking through the scope.
