Budget priced scopes

Just because they're made by Weaver doesn't mean they're the same. Geos were made by GM. Doesn't mean they're as good as a Chevrolet.

The Nitrex is a [beeep] good scope. The TR One that Natchez has is reportedly the same scope as the Weaver Grand Slam. I had a 3-9x40 on a 30-06 and was VERY impressed with the glass and overall quality. Easily the best 100 dollar scope around, and worth at least twice that.

Fully agree with above. Own a couple of Nitrex TR2 scopes myself. Liked them so much, bought one of the Weaver Super Slams that cost me a fair amount more than did the Nitrex version of it when Natchez had them at heavily discounted prices.

Hmmmm, Hulsey's post reminded me of a nice buy on a very decent 3.8-12x44 A.O. Weaver 40/44. Own one of these and its optics are very good. Turrets function OK too. Recall the day a fellow shooter showed up at range with a friends rifle with this scope mounted. He was developing an accurate hunting load for the rifle. After a few minutes with the rifle, sighting downrange, he will loudly exclaim to his fellow shooters, I can't believe how clear this cheap A$$ scope is. This particular guy owns some very pricey scopes.

Anyway, same place that has the Nitrex I mentioned in earlier post www.natchezss.com) has heavily discounted the prices on the Weaver 40/44 Aspherical lens scopes and the 3.8-12x44 aspherical lens is now around $100....should sell for around $190. The Weaver 40/44 models are made in the Philippines.
