Buisness cards....

Hello to all ...

I live in IL and people here are usually hesitant to give permission to hunt their land. So i have read here some of you give out buisness cards for the more professional look but since im a mutton head with a thankless job i dont have "real" biz cards. But I wish to make something to give to people as a calling card. not a problem to make but what should it say...."professional coyote whacker" ?? any ideas would be appreciated as well as any other hints on getting to hunt peoples property.

Here's a card I use with some land owners. I have whited out portions of some of the lines for privacy sake on this vast medium.

The permission slip/release form would be a handy item to have with you if you go door-to-door asking permission to hunt. Many land owners are extremely concerned about liability issues.

I started handing out B-cards about 3 months ago. Only had one out of ten takers. Hopefully, I'll get some more calls this spring. Here is a b-card I drew up in Auto-cad. Oh ya I'm a draftsman, That's why I used Autocad. The few guys that I have given them to, seem to take me a little more seriously when I give them one.

Here is my card

Here's the front and back of two cards I keep in my wallet. I wanted them small enough that I can keep all my hunting permission slips in my wallet so I never forget them.

If I run into a landowner, I've got an instant permission form and I give him the card w/ all my info on it.

Very nice idea W@W. I may have to copy your idea! The thing I especially like is where you have the blanks for "Dates Granted." Many times when I contact landowners by phone, I ask for permission and they ask what day? I would like to have the permission to hunt last for the whole fur season and often ask them to grant permission for that period of time. I don't get turned down very often. The thing that may be important here is the "permission in writing" thing." Some well-meaning neighbors may see you on the land and not know you have permission. If you tell them you called and got permission, they may still be feisty with you. You don't want to get into a hissing match with them because that serves no useful purpose and may alienate your chances of getting permission to hunt on their land as well as get you a "bad name" in the area when that neighbor tells how shabilly you treated him when he was trying to look out for the interests of his neighbor.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that written permission for a specified time frame is a good idea if you can get it.

I used ot have some but they werent made on a computer, they were made on paper and then photocopied. Can I make these on microsoft windows 2000 me?

Yeah that sounds good, I'm from the Lockport area. occasionally i hunt Peotone area and Plainfield as well as some close to home spots. It takes me about 35-40 min to get to the state phesant area I run rt.45 but I do belive there is a faster way via rt.53 just haven't tried it yet. Keep in touch !!! Night time callin is "officially" done with the end of fox season /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif but the mornings have been better by me. have you tried the phesant area for coyotes?? I haven't gotten my pass for there yet. But a couple of my friends have but had no luck there yet.

coyotebuster--Microsoft Windows ME is an operating sytem. You need application software like Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher to create business cards. Both of them make it real easy to create and print your personalized business cards. Remember, you need a printer to complete the job.

Very nice all, I used to have some years ago and they DO work.I handed them out at work to farmers and thier hired guys and got lots of calls and lots of new ground to hunt.
Maybe Ill make some mo'.
