Bullet puller

Due to buying a Hornady OAL gauge, I want to pull some of my loaded rounds for my 22-250, 243, and 7mm mag. What is the besy way to pull bullets without damage to bullets. Collet or ineria type?
 
The mallet type pullers are ok for just a few rounds, pretty slow if you have a large number. You can use a foam ear plug to prevent bullet damage if you go this route.
 
For the 243 and the 7mm mag you could use the inertia type puller the 22-250 will require a collet in my experience. I would use a Hornady cam-lock bullet puller with proper collets and not look back.
 
Get the Hornady Cam-Lock Bullet Puller. With "normal" neck tension there will be no marks on the bullet, apply just enough pressure on the lever to keep the bullet from slipping. Also each collet will do more then one caliber. I have the #2 (.224) and the #4 (.260) and can pull .204-.277.
 
Hornady Bullet Puller is the way to go if you have more than one bullet to pull.

I had the exact same experience. Definitely go with the Hornady.
 
The kinetic/inertia puller works well for straight wall pistol and rifle bullets, but bottle neck caartridges really need the Hornady collet style...

If your insert die body is properly installed/adjusted, you won't have damage to the bullet..If not, it's easy to apply too much pressure to the jaws of the collet and leave a slight ring around the bullet,..

I've re-used them with no negative results, they just tend to look weird..
 
Thanks guys, my computer has been in the shop for couple days so I couldn't reply. I was leaning more towards the hornady cam lock type anyway but was making sure I get the right one the first time.
