Burris Electro-Dot Scopes

Just curious if anyone has used the Burris electro-dot scopes? Pro / cons would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a good lighted reticle or dot that will double for day or night hunting, and something that won't break the bank account.

I have the 26mm in 1.5-6x electro dot. Very clear for night hunting and daytime. When I was looking for a scope I spoke to the people at Burris and this is the scope they recommended for what I wanted. Great scope.

I have a 3-9x40 Fullfield II electrodot on my Ruger No. 1B 25-06. The optics are nice and clear. The eye relief is barely adequate, but I need to shorten the stock. I just can't bring myself to do it. It's an old red pad rifle with a beautiful burl stock... and eye relief is a problem with me anyway.

My biggest gripe with the Burris is the dot has too few brightness settings...just two. I'd rather it have several like my Mueller, which has eleven.

On the other hand, the clarity is a little better on the Burris (not much, but a little)...and the Burris is built like a tank. I've had good luck with the Mueller, so far. However, a few others on the board haven't. I have to admit, I've only had the Mueller for a year, so it hasn't been through a good test. However, at this point, it suits me.

How's that for muddying the water? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have the 4-16x40 Sig. Select on my .17 REM and love it, very clear. I also have a Mueller 3-10x44 sport dot that was on it that would lose it's zero after a few shots. Mueller replaced the scope without any questions. I think the Burris is a lot clearer than the Mueller but I will agree with sheepfarmer that the 11 brightness settings on the Mueller are very nice.
