Burris Fullfield II 4.5x14

I have been thinking about getting the Fullfield II 4.5x14 with the free spotting scope out of midway. I will be putting it on my 22.250, mainly for shooting squrrels, some long distace shooting. Anybody have one of these scopes? Do you like it or hate it. How does it perform. I am between the Mueller Eraticator which I have seen pretty good reviews on and the Burris which I cannot find too many reviews on. which do think is best bang for my buck. Thanks for any input. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have the Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40...good scope for the money. When I started looking at the 4.5x14 scopes, I ended up getting the Nikon Buckmaster with the side focus. (Wife actually bought it for me). I went with the Nikon for a couple reasons....Side focus means Butler Creek cap on the front with no issue of having to turn the adjustable objective and still be able to flip the cover open....Same with the eyepiece. Can't very well use a Butler Creek cap as the entire eyepiece turns when you adjust the power ring on the FF II.

I like my Burris, which is on my 22-250 Encore barrel, but I truly think I will enjoy the Nikon more. It's going on my 25-06 Encore barrel.

I'm a Burris fan myself, because I know when I plunk down my $ for one I got a good one w/o guessing. If not back to the factory & back it comes.
I do have a pair of Nikon binos w/ the zoom that I dearly love.
I've heard alot of good about the Muellers. No experience though.
The Bushnell Elites really tempt me too.

I too am a big Burris fan. I have 1 Eurodiamond, 2 signatures, & one fullfield. I am not a big fan of the way new Burris has the entire eypeice move to change zoom, but it's not as big a deal as everyone makes out (unless ur a big flip up man; I can see that being /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif).

As far as getting a good scope for the money, I'd go with the burris. Plus, I have delt with the costomer service a couple times & been MORE than pleased both times.

You may want to check out ebay. I have seen these scopes go for ~250+. They are well worth that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have the Burris II 4.5x14 mounted on a .22-250 and two hunting friends have the 3x9s mounted on a .30-06 and a .300 Win. Mag. and we like them. Good scope for the money.
BUT, if the selling point for you is the spotting scope I would not buy it. The spotting scope is a low end optical product. It is useable and I carry mine as a truck scope for short periods of use.

I have the burris 4-14 on my 270. Its a great scope for the money. Definitely check out optic zone. They have a great price on the 3-9 full field right now... Infact mine is in the mail.....

Always been a big Burris fan.

But I should say in fairness, that I used an 8-25X Eraticator on PD's this past season, and liked it a lot.

Tough call.

I had a Buris 4.5-14. Kinda heavy but very good optics and the it tracked well too as I remember. I ended up selling it to fund a project and almost got what I paid for it. Realizing there is a price difference I'd take it in a heartbeat over the Mueller and over the buckmasters Nikon as well.

All i got to say is go with this scope i just bought it and put it on my gun today...went out this morning sited it in and shot a yote im all for it. i also put it on my remington 700 sps in 22-250.

There have been a few threads concerning the fullfield IIs with the free spotting scope. I believe the fullfields that come with the freebie are made in the Phillippines (or somewhere overseas). The spotting scope comes from China. At any rate, the scopes that come with the freebie do not have "Made in USA" on the scope bell. Mine doesn't. Nothing wrong with the scope, but its not the same scope I sampled at the scope counter. It holds its zero and the ballistic plex works well, but my leupolds are much clearer. Can't speak for the USA version. The spotting scope is handy at the range, but that's about it.
