Burris Fullfield II Scope Quality?

I just got a new Savage 111 in 25-06 and I am in the market for a new scope. I have been looking at the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14 X 42 with ballistic plex reticle. I am mainly wondering how clear this scope is and how well it gathers light in low light conditions. Thanks in advance for the help and input.

Decent scope but I think that reticle is a poor choice for low light conditions. I don't like mine on the brightest of days.

In that price range I like an Elite series of scope better. Especially with their fairly heavy duplex for the dark hours.

I have that exact scope on my ar and love it. My brother has two on his ar's and 2 of the lighted ret. One is on his ar and one is on his tika 25-06 and he really loves the lighted ret. for low light conditions. I have not used one of the light ret. but the standard ballistic plex shows up fine in early morn and late evenings. I don't think you could go wrong with one.

I might be a little bias on this due to owning 7 different full field II scopes. I have two 3x9x50 balistic plex on both my 17 hmr, two 3.5x10x50 balistic plex LSR on two of my ars, one 4X16x50 balistic plex on another ar, and one 4.5x14x42 balistic plex on another ar. Also a 3x9x50 balistic plex on my tikka t3 in a 25-06. I love the balistic plex and the full fields light gathering ability on all the scopes, but the 50 mm front object is alittle better than my 42 mm one. This should be expected though. My next gun will have also have a full field II on it in a balistic plex. I love their price and their glass, very hard to beat!

I have two 4.5-14x42 FFII BP scopes, one is the newer Tactical w/target knobs on AR's and four 3-9x40 FFII BP scopes on bolt guns from 223 to 338 WM. The two AR's are used regularly for night hunting coyotes & bobcats & I have no trouble picking up the crosshairs day or night. Great value and don't forget the unconditional lifetime warranty.

The positive clicks on elevation and windage are positive and very repeatable.

Regards,

I have used the Bushnell 4200 Elite and the Burris Fullfield II both in the 4.5X14 at night hunting pigs with no light except the full moon and the Bushnell is hands down winner. Both are good for the money but in low light the Bushnell Elite 4200 is better.

The only thing I dont like about mine is you have to turn the whole eyepiece to change manification, which makes it almost impossible to use flip-up scope caps...

I have the 4.5-14X42mm Burris Fullfield II on my Remington 700. I love it, it is the most clear scope I have looked through, the ballistic plex reticle is awesome too.

hello..a have the 3x9..to my eye's it's very clear..mine hasn't been bumped around yet so i can't speak yet as to the durabilty..the only thing i don't like is the zero marking's for windage-elevation..other scope's are marked much better..i have been known on occasion to turn the dial the wrong way..to read the windage mark's..you have to hold the scope almost upside down..maybe it's not that way on all of them..i don't know..

I've had the chance to use both the Fullfield II Light Tactical, in both the 4.5x14 and the 3x9. Both proved to be sharp and clear. The Palistic Plex proved to be Coyote close at the ranges they were calibrated for. I was impressed and will purchase another one.

I have the 4.5-14x42 on my .308 and I really love it. The Ballistic plex is close enough to hit coyotes and deer to four hundred yards and to me it is a very clear scope. Mine has been banged around in the pickup and still holds it zero.
