Both are 4.5x14x40...Never had any experience with burris but found a good deal on both scopes. Any suggestions are appreciated. I need a good scope that wont break the bank..Going on my new cz 204

I have not looked through the 4.5-14 Coyote Special but have heard others say they prefer the 3-9 over it. I have several of the Burris FFII in 3-9 and 4.5-14 and like them. I have been thinking of trying on of the Nikon M223 scopes lately.

The Burris should be brighter, as it has a 95% light transmission rating compared to the Nikon at 92%. Also, the internal lenses on the Burris are up to 43% larger than most competitors, which should let more light volume through.

I had the coyote special. wasnt a fan of the circle reticles. makes it real hard to shoot at long ranges. i went with a bushnell elite 3200 5-15x. i would go with nikon buckmaster with mil dot if i were you.

Yea I've really been skeptical about the circles. I like to shoot groups and just don't see how they can be accurate at longer ranges

right now midwayusa.com has deals on bushnell elite scopes. the elite 3200 5-15x 50mm is 250 which is a really good price.

yea i see that. I dont know if that scope will clear the bolt on the cz 527 rifle. Ive been looking at burris fullfield II for $200 brand new.

Id jump on that burris deal!

I have the same scope and I love it! I will admit ive never seen the coyote special though..

I would take the Burris, it is a decent scope for the money and seems to be a good value. I can't get into those circle reticles either.

I have the Coyote (Nikon) on my R15 and I really like this scope.. You have to keep in mind that it IS NOT made to punch paper with... It's purpose is to kill things... And that it does. I've never experienced a scope that allows the field of view for range finding and to follow up if need be.. If you want a scope that is as accurate on paper "or should I say" easier to use on paper don't get it.. But if you want a scope that will kill what you put the dots/circles on the Nikon is the one..

BTW my uncle has the Burris on his AR and Loves it.. He puts the different ranges on his Butt stock to refresh before going out an that"s about it...

Sometimes I feel kinda left out and isolated - then you post something and I know that out there somewhere in cyber world are others like me.

Have the Nikon Coyote, but only for a couple of weeks. Haven't hunted it yet, but have had it at the range.

Very clear and good lighting. Do agree with the "Punch Paper" commnent. Tac-driving takes a little more effort/focus in keeping the cross-hairs lined up. The hairs do not cross the circle (100yds) so there is a little guess work. Kept groups at 1" though.

Do like the scope and can see where animal pick-up will be easier.

Will let you know when I get a chance to hunt with it.

That's a good point about establishing a lead. I've been looking at them,i do think I would like the circles for shooting game at longer distance, just not targets. If you think about it at longer distances crosshairs tend to cover small targets, if you had the circle you could just center it on the target and nothing would be covering it.

but I'm probably over thinking things as a fine set of crosshairs would cover very little

I've not had good luck with bushnell scopes although i have heard good things about the elites. I had a couple older bushnell scopes that would not hold true and had one that the crosshairs broke in. Anyone hear had much experience with a elite. I was kinda looking for something with a little more power since i already have an atec in 2.8-10 on my shelf at home.

I'm gonna think hard about that coyote special i hadnt seen that one. I like the circles in the BDC reticle but i'd rather have the crosshairs in the middle. Just havent gotten much feedback on the coyote special.

Ive been thinking i might want a ballistic reticle.
What do you guys think between the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 with ballistic plex or Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 with BDC.

I can get the nikon for $258. The burris will be about $270-$280 from what i can tell.

Actually the nikon is $258 and the Burris is $253 right now.
Thanks
