Alright guys sold my lower power scope and looking at either burris signature select 4-16x44 w/ ballistic plex or nikon monarch 4-16x40 with mildots. The nikon is sold by natchez and is refurbished (not totally sure they are in stock, but the newest flyer lists them)... and i have found the burris sig slightly used for the same price.

I know there isn't a whole lot of difference and i own 2 nikon buckmasters which i like. What are your opinions on the glass in these scopes, features, overall quality, customer service, etc.??

care to explain?

how does the glass compare to the grand slam? i hate a nitrex tr two which had good glass.... just seems like the monarch and sig would have better glass than the classic v

IMO the glass is comparable in all 3. The Weaver costs less money and will track as good or better than the other 2. Recent Weaver customer service that I experienced was very good also. I have yet to find a scope that I feel to be of better value than the Weaver Classics and Weaver target scopes. I have owned a bunch of them in all different flavors, and have owned a great deal of other scopes in which to compare them to......

I've have 2-V16s, 1-V24 and a grand slam weaver with no complaints but personally think the monarchs r sharper and brighter. Comparing to the 2 monarchs I have, 4-12, and a 5-20.

So my rating goes.
1-monarch
2-grandslam
3-V series
