Bushing Neck Sizing Dies vs. Lee Collet Dies

OK guys. I have seen alot of talk lately about the neck sizing dies that use bushings instead of an expander. I currently use Lee Collet dies, which basically work on the same principle I think except you just can't control the exact amount of tension like with the bushing dies. I have had pretty good luck with the Lee Collet dies.

My question is: Would there be an advantage of using the bushing type neck sizers over the Lee Collet dies for regular hunting ammunition? Will they produce less runout than the Lee Collet dies? I am always looking to improve my reloading process, but these bushing dies are rather expensive and I don't want to jump into using them if there isn't a big advantage over the Lee Collet dies. Thanks for the help.
 
Don't want to sound like a smart a$$ but they just might gain you .0319". It reaches a point where all the little things you can do mean nothing unless you have the skills to use it, a rifle that can use it and then you find something special about gaining something you might be barely able to measure. Then again it might gain you nothing.

Best group I ever shot was with a factory 700 ADL, wood stock, in 25-05 that I bedded myself. The group measured .111 for 5 shots at 100yds with 100gr SMK's and loaded with a very old Herter neck sizer die. I've never been able to do it again, haven't even come close!

I am sure glad you clarified you weren't being a smart a$$.

I do get what your saying. I just enjoy putting together the best possible ammunition I can. Whether or not it makes that big of a difference on paper will be something I will have to find out for myself. That's the thrill of reloading in my opinion.

Just trying to find out what the advantages of using the bushing neck sizing dies would be if any, but I appreciate your reply.
 
I like the bushing die because it seams more consistant than the collet die. With the bushing die I just have to make sure that I get the case all the way into the die. I can just feel the expander ball brushing the inside of the neck as the case is lowered and I know the neck is perfect. With the collet die I have to make sure that I pull the handle with the same power each time, if I have a laps in concentration and just pull it untill it stops and not exert a little extra I have a case that won't hold a bullet.

Thanks for the replies. That does make sense to me based on my experience with the collet die also. I might have to give the bushing die a try.
