Today I looked at a Carbon 15-97 with a 16" barrel, and it looked ideal for a varmit gun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif How is the accuracy of these short barrels at 2-300 yds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

This is a super light and feels very good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

My other choice is a Bushy Varmiter, 24". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks,

Some people love the carbon 15's and some don't. I do hunt with a 16" AR and the length of the barrel has very little if anything to do with accuracy. You will lose a little velocity but not near as much as most would think.

The Bushmaster Varminter is a nice rifle but a little on the heavy side to me, they made a prototype with a 20" barrel but chose the 24" instead. My cousin has a 24" fluted varminter and it shoots about 1/2" groups with Ultramax ammo.
