Bushmaster Varminter break in

I didn't get instructions because it's brandnew but I traded another gun for it private party... So that's why idk a few specifics about it. Thanks for the help...

Nailed it right here. Your cleaning rod will do more damage than just shooting it. Now if you run a good bore guide and good rods it will keep your barrel in better shape, but the majority of hunters just look confused when you start mentioning bore guides and other cleaning essentials.

I admit I'm far from ever being an expert.. I just never fell in with the logic of "barrel brake in" that's just me though and I'm as anal or OCD as they come. I tend to favor giving a new gun a patch down the barrel to remove any axcess oil from the manufacturers and then proceed to shoot until groups begin to fall off.. Inspect the BCG for excess fouling and go from there.. Again thats just my way...
