I have a chance to get a new 3200 elite 5-15x50 for $289, it looks like a good match for my savage 308 tactical. My question is to you who have this scope, what are the good points, and what are the short comings? Does it have good clarity at the high end? Thanks, blue

My experience with the high end Bushnell scopes has been nothing short of great. Rainguard is a great feature and has never failed me. The 5-15-50 has great light pickup power comparable to much higher priced scopes. I have been using a 4x16x50 in the 4200 series for about two years and it is the best scope I have ever owned. That is a great price you have lined up on that scope.

Yes I would. Its a great scope. I own and use the 5x15 3200.

One real world consideration. I got mine with the firefly reticle. Its a tad on the large side for varmints, but for night shooting crop damage permits it was money well spent.

Either reticle the light transmission on this scope is great. I actually see better looking through this scope at night than with my naked eye if there is any ambient light around.

I've replaced two Leupolds with Bushnell Elite 3200's in the past few months. As I can, I'm going to replace more of the Leupolds with Elites. (That might tell you something) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Keep an eye out in the classifieds for a good deal on my Leupolds... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It is not a bad deal on a decent scope. I just bought a new Sightron SII 4X16 for $320. And I believe the SII is a little better scope than the 3200. More along the lines of the 4200(or slightly better). So you are looking at a decent deal.

Make a chart and compare all the features each scope has. Then make your decision based upon which features are most important to you. There is a good bit of difference between the 3200 and the 4200. Do a little research. You will be glad you did. Tom.

Love the elite 3200 I have a 5x15x40 and a 1.5x4.5x40 with the firefly retical. the rainguard is nothing short of fantastic. the only draw back I see on them is the eye relive seems to be a little on the short side but it should not bother you until you get into the big recoil thumbers.

Thanks guys, theres one on the way. Now i guess the problem is, ... as someone has stated, once you look through a decent scope, ... what do you do with all your cheap ones? blue

I have 2 of the 3200 elite's and have no complaint.
I had a Scope chief 4 power that I used for close to 40 years on every thing form a 300 Win. Mag.to a 22LR. I finely retired it after I dropped. That's why I buy Bushnell's.

Sell 'em or put them on the rimfires... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The really cheap ones make excellent duck decoy weights /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I've always liked the 3200 series in that price range. You'll be pleased with it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
