Bushnell 4200 Elite anyone?

That adjustment on the 3200/4200 is for the ocular focus, not the eye relief, which isn't adjustable.

Eye relief for most 3200/4200 models is 3.3". The 3200 5x15 is 4.3".

What I like about the eye relief on them, is that it is constant, at all magnification settings. It drives me NUTS the way Leupolds eye relief changes as the magnification changes. On the VxIII 4.5x14, the eye relief goes all the way from 3.7" to 5" depending on the power. The mount only fits me right at one power setting. That's how all the VxIII's are. Most of the other companies in the industry can offer 4x zoom range, constant eye relief, and european style ocular adjustment, all in one scope, at reasonable prices. But the Leupolds still hold an edge in size and weight.

DAA thankyou, I have never written very much positive about the Leupold line of scopes so I have tried to keep out of most Leupold discusions. On this matter you are so completely correct that I simply had to say something. My standard way of mounting a scope is to turn it up to its maximum power and adjust eye relief from there. This procedure has always worked very well, that was until I mounted a VXIII 6.5-20 (By the way most other scopes in this power range are 6x24's) on a buddies rifle. That stinkin' thing took lots of fiddling around and when we were done the setting was a compromise at best.

How is the Elite 4200 1/4 MOA Dot recticle for pdog hunting? Trying to decide which reticle to get.

FWIW...I found that Natchez has best pricing and in stock.

Thanks!

Andrew, a dot is great for shooting p-dogs or chucks, also very good for shooting groups. I don't like them for coyotes or jack rabbits or anything like that though.

For how I think you'll be using that '250, a dot would be great.

I have a couple of the B & L 4200 series scopes. I put the 1.5-6X on my Savage 116 in .223, my "California" rifle for coyote calling (don't want to take my camo 16" pre-ban AR there, the gov. will snatch it). I get about one half m.o.a. out of the little savage out to 200 yards shooting the Black Hills 50gr V-max. The scope is VERY bright. Point of impact does not seem to shift with magnification; I like that. I would buy any 4200 series before a Leopold.
My two cents worth....
