Bushnell Customer Service

I bought a Bushnell Banner 3-9X50 scope a few years ago to put on whatever came along. After getting it out of the safe to put on a rifle, I took it outside to get a good look through it before mounting.

First thing I noticed was at 7-9 power, distant objects were slightly out of focus. I let a buddy of mine look through it and came to the same conclusion, out of focus.

I called Bushnell's customer service and described the problem. She said to give a description of the problem and send it insured to them. I told her I didn't have a receipt and she said it didn't matter since all their rifle scopes (after 1984) have a lifetime warranty.

I sent it off yesterday and we'll see if this problem is taken care of. She said there's a 4-6 week turn around on repairs. Maybe it'll come back a little sooner.

Their customer service rep was extremely helpful.

Be aware of the fact that the parallax on that particular scope is set at 100 or 150 yards. At some point objects at a distance are blurry, that is why they put Adjustable Objectives on scopes.

Service from Bushnell is top rate. I had a couple of the old 4-12 scope chiefs made in 1986 that got fogged, they refilled with Nitrogen and sent them back to me.

Other than that, I have never had a problem with any B & L scope or bushnell scope (I buy top end models).

Good luck!

I agree with ackleyman, I have a office in Lees Summit Mo, there is a Bushnell outlet right down the street. A few months a go, i bought a scope in the for my .223, i think it was a legend. I couldnt keep groups at 100, yards that were less than 2''. Anyway, long story short, i had no receipt, and they said I had 2 options. One they send it to repare, two, the credit me back the money i paid and I could get something else of equal value in the store. So i thought id spend alittle more and, get a 4200 elite!
My point, that was very good of them to do that.

I received a post card from Bushnell today.
The scope has been repaired and is shipping tomorrow.

Pretty fast service, IMO.
Mailed it to them on March 25th, they received it on the 29th.

We'll see how they did when it gets here.

That's awesome. I didn't know that. I wonder why they don't really push that, like Leupold?

The outlet store I know of in Shawnee, KS (a suburb of Kansas City), has higher prices than anywhere else you can buy them. When I asked about this (about 4-5 years ago), the guy working there told me that they didn't want to undercut their outside dealers, but I will admit if you wanted something they pretty much had it right there. Again this was a while ago, and I figured I coudl drive 10-15 min and get one from Cabelas or Bass Pro cheaper then that was worth the $40-$70 difffernce in price.

Too be perfectly honest, I don't remember seeing any refurb'ed scopes, but I was not looking for one at the time. They could have been there and I just didn't see them.

Most of the scopes they carry at the shawnee store are refurb's and are incredibly expensive. I go in every now and then just to check out a scope before I purchase online.

Then what's the point in Bushnell having an outlet store?

Factory outlet stores around here offer brand name goods at a reduced price, even though the brand names sold there are also sold by other stores in the area.

I was under the impression that is how an outlet store operated.

BTW, UPS is delivering my scope tomorrow. I hope it's right.

UPS delivered the scope this morning.
I read the repair report and here's what was done.

- IJ Point of aim shift/jump
- AP Adjust parallax
- FO Focus adjustment
- RZ Re-center reticle

Took the scope outside to see if it met with my satisfaction.
There is no parallax and the scope is focused a heck of a lot better than before.

All and all, I'm pleased with the repair.

I'll probably stick this on a .22 LR. in the future.

You know as in most outlet stores they are not company run business, but rather franchised re-sellers. I'd bet more on that than a real Bushnel operation. I think it would be worth the look to see about. They may be under contract to sell what the company wants to get rid of.

I had a Bushnell elite 4200 in a 4-16-50 and the rainguard on the front eye piece started to bubble, I sent it to them and they sent me a new one that was a side focus, the scope i sent them had a big scratch right behind the ao on the front of the scope. Bushnell has my vote I think the 4200 series is just as good if not better than the varix 3
