I recently purchased a legend 5-15-40 mildot for my 243 and had to take it back and get another b/c the first would not hold sight. the new one is doing great and i am very pleased with the clarity in bright and low light. i am fixing to buy another sope to put on my 30-06 springfield and was curious if there was a better scope for the money? i am wanting somethin in a 4-12 or 5-15 for 250 or less. the legend was around 200.

thanks, jle

i use bushnell trophy and bushnell elite. you can find a 3x9 3200 elite for abt 200 bucks and it'll do fine on your 06. a trophy 3x12 goes for abt 200 also. i have a 6x18 trophy on my 25-06 and it's been great but i don't think it would be good on the 30-06 cuz of eye relief.

I've got a 2-7x32 Legend on my Model Seven in 7mm-08 and a 3-9x40 Elite 3200 on my Model Seven in .223.

I am very pleased with both! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
I really appreciate the value of the Legend.
If the extra $50 weren't a hassle, I'd go with the Elite 3200.

It is my understanding that they are made in different factories and are constructed differently. But the CS Rep I spoke to at Bushnell told me that the only "practical" difference between the Legend and Elite was the coatings on the lense of the Elite. If there is an optical difference, I can't tell - but then, my eyes are 56 years old!

me!

thanks. from what i have read, the legend and 4200 are fully multi-coated and the 3200 is just multi-coated. so i guess the only diff. would be my legend does not have raingaurd. as far as light transmission the legend is 91% the 3200 is 90% and the 4200 is 95%. i might just have to save my pennies for the 4-16-40 4200.

thanks for input guys. jle

I have three of the 5-15x40 Legends with Mil dots.
Awesome scopes for the money!
Very clear scope. Never had any probs with mine, if I ever do, then Bushnell will always stand behind thier product.
