Bushnell or Leupold?

I have been looking at the Bushnell Elite Rifle Scope 3-9x40 with a DOA reticle and I have also been looking at the Leupold Rifleman and the Leupold VX-2 both at 3-9x40. Which one should I go with?

Personally I think the Rifleman is junk. Did not like the 2 I had at all and sold them both.

A nice VX-II is hard to go wrong with.

Which model Elite are you looking at? 3200, 4200 or 6500? I have a 4200 and it is clear and bright but I have to say, the 3200 isn't too bad either.

I would go with the VX-II. Personally I wouldn't consider anything less than the VX-II in Leupolds line. The bushnell a decent scope but Leupold's customer service (if you ever need it) is second to none IME.

Not a fan of Leupold, find a 3200 or 4200 Bushnell or Nikon or a Weaver. Iv had very good luck with Bushnells customer service.

I think that new series of Elite is the same as the older 4200 series. Should be a good scope.

Take a look at SWFA, Optics Planet and Natchez Shooters Supply for some better pricing.

+1 and raise you that the Leupold is made here.

I like the Leupold VX-II's. Just box it up after you buy it and send it back to Leupold so they can fix the power ring. Or carry a visegrip with you.

A couple of years ago I had a friend wreck his 4-wheeler and tear up a Leupold 3X9 he bought in the 70's. He sent it back to Leupold and they fixed it and shipped it back to him for FREE. YES FREE!!

How could anyone even consider a Bushnell over a Leupold?? I can't understand that?? Especially when you can buy them priced comparably?? If there was a major price difference then maybe. But comparably priced?? Makes no sense to me.

If he had bought a Bushnmell back then instead of a Leupold then at least he would have had a good tent stake after he wrecked his 4-wheeler. Tom.

I've had a 4200 for over 11 years and it's still great. As a matter of fact I just purchased my first Leupold ever 2 months ago. Haven't had it out in the field yet but, it responds pretty good at the range.

I would go VX2 also. I think Midway has a sale on them right now. Stanard duplex 3-9x40s for $259. I think the LR duplexes are $279.......

So I just got a Remington 700 30-06 and I think I am going to go w/a Leupold 3-9x40 VX-II Riflescope w/a LR Duplex at SWFA for $329.95. Thank you for all of the help and I am still open for suggestions.

I got a deal once on a Dick's Sporting Goods 20% off coupon via their e-mail fliers. Plus used a coupon code for $25 off anything over $125. And I got free shipping. Ended up with a Leupold VX-II 4-12 with AO (56950) for $364.43 delivered. Hard to beat that deal.

Are you stuck on Bushnell or Leupold? I took the leap and picked up one of those new Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x and have been very impressed with it.
