Bushnell Trophy Red dot

I have a Bushnell Trophy Red dot/6 mil. dot and wanted to get your opinions on the size dot for a Shotgun at 30-40 yds.
Or would I be better off with the one that has Circle/3mil. dot, cross hair,3mil.dot??
Some times I think the 6 mil. is to big. Any suggestions!

One mil is 3.6 inches at 100 yds so it wont be 6 mil it will be 6 moa minute of angle which is --- One moa is about 1 inch at 100 yds, or 1 moa is 2 iches at 200 yds or 1 moa is 3 inches at 300 yds. both MIL and MOA are measurments of an angle like a piece of pie they start from where you are and get wider as they get further away.

As 6 moa gets closer than 100 yds at 50 it would cover 3 inches and at 25 yds it would cover 1.5 inches of the target. Personally I like a 2 moa dot best of the dots and I absolutely love a chevron or post which comes to a point like Trijicon Accupoint reticles. Anyway we are talking shotgun so I think you are OK if it was a rifle I'd want a smaller dot.

You are absolutly correct,my bad. Dont know what I was thinking when I typed it. Thank you for pointing that out.
are there any other opinions. Please....
